[DIP-28] ssv.network DAO community and marketing management proposal 2025

Proposal Summary

If this proposal were to pass, the ssv.network DAO will approve an additional 250.000 USD for marketing activities which were already approved in DIP-16 and DIP-23. Additionally, if this proposal were to pass, new activities suggested below, will be funded from said budget.

Motivation

Since DIP-16 and DIP-23, the SSV Foundation, on behalf of the SSV DAO, succeeded in driving meaningful growth and engagement through marketing and community efforts, independently and using third parties professionals. The aforementioned proposals laid the groundwork for many of the initiatives that have shaped SSV Network’s brand presence, including event production, social media campaigns, PR activities, and the Ambassador Program.

The ssv.network DAO has seen strong results from engaging builders, expanding the community, and positioning SSV as a leader in the staking ecosystem. The focus for 2025 is not only to keep this momentum going but also to increase efforts with bigger, bolder initiatives.

The requested budget will enable the Foundation to continue delivering value across these key areas, ensuring alignment with the DAO’s goals and the foundation’s vision for growth.

Objectives

Marketing and community efforts will center around these goals:

  1. Brand Awareness: Continue positioning ssv.network as the leading staking infrastructure by building on the strong foundation that has been already established.
  2. Transparency: Ensuring proper transparency for the ssv.network community regarding all meaningful events of the ssv.network DAO.
  3. Education: Make distributed staking more approachable through accessible guides, content, and resources tailored to builders and stakers alike.
  4. Community Engagement: Create opportunities for meaningful participation, from incentivized campaigns to interactive events that keep the ecosystem active and connected.
  5. Growth and Adoption: Expand the network’s reach by onboarding more builders, showcasing real-world use cases, and fostering strategic partnerships.
  6. Sustainability: Stay aligned with the needs of the community and the DAO’s long-term vision by fostering open feedback and adapting to new circumstances.

Request Budget

If this proposal were to pass, the requested budget of 250.000 USD is to be deposited in the first regular batch (as defined in DAO Contributor: Proposal for Engagement as the DAO’s Master of Coin) by the ssv.network DAO Multi-Sig Committee to the wallet chosen by the Foundation. The abovementioned budget is broken up into dedicated sections with their dedicated amounts and can be found below:

  1. PR campaigns and communication initiatives (125.000 USD) - The staple of all marketing is to have marketing campaigns as the DAO has thus far. This is done to drive awareness and maintain a strong presence in the industry. This consists of:
    1. Ongoing Organic Media Coverage - Currently managed by a third-party PR agency chosen by the SSV Foundation (Currently by ‘Yap Global’).
    2. Direct Media Sponsorships - Paid partnerships with web3 media outlets (e.g., The Defiant, CoinTelegraph, The Block, etc.).
    3. Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) - Paid collaborations with influencers to promote educational content about the ssv.network.
  2. Continue existing and facilitate new growth campaigns (50.000 USD) - These efforts target builders, contributors, and developers while expanding community-driven programs such as:
    1. Ambassadors Program - Empowering community leaders to advocate, contribute ideas and content to the ssv.network community and beyond.
    2. Referral Programs - Incentivizing participation in community discussions through referral-based rewards.
    3. Community Contests - Initiating and facilitating campaigns focused on content creation and engagement.
    4. Learn & Earn Experiences - Gamified educational initiatives for the ssv.network community that drive engagement and recognition of the ssv.network.
  3. Increased design and branding efforts (25.000 USD) - There is a continued need to maintain and increase the visual appeal of the ssv.network brand and design. With this in mind the efforts will focus on:
    1. Dedicated Landing Pages - Custom designs for new and existing campaigns and initiatives.
    2. Campaign-Specific Visuals - Banners, swag, icons, and promotional materials.
    3. Educational Media - Short videos, animations, and interactive assets focusing on bringing the ssv.netowork basics and complexities to the masses.
  4. Events and partnerships (50.000 USD) - Each year brings a new set of events that are important for the ssv.network to participate in and renew, maintain and create new partnerships.
    1. Conference Participation - Attendance at flagship industry events like ETHDenver, Consensus Hong Kong, Paris Blockchain Week etc…
    2. Sponsorships & Partnerships - Strategic collaborations with side-event organizers at the mentioned conferences.
    3. Speaking Opportunities - Secure speaking slots and panel participation for ssv.network DAO members, contributors and development teams.

Conclusion

Due to the comprehensive marketing roadmap currently being out of reach, as was the case with DIP-16 and DIP-23, the SSV Foundation will continue to have discretion in approving or denying new marketing initiatives and shifting budgets, where appropriate, including new and suggested directions subject to future approval prior to technological and operational implementation.

I’m on board with DIP-28 to push for bigger marketing and more community engagement. As an SSV ambassador, I’m excited to see us grow and reach new milstones for 2025.
