1. What is the Verified Operator Program?
The Verified Operator (VO) badge is a quality mark for SSV Network operators who meet strict uptime and performance benchmarks. It signals to stakers that your node is reliable, well-maintained, and compliant with SSV DAO standards.
Verified Operators receive:
- A verified tick next to their operator ID on the SSV Explorer.
- Greater visibility and trust from potential stakers.
- Access to the VO Discord channel for direct updates and alerts.
2. Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the Verified Operator designation, you must meet all of the following:
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Network | Ethereum mainnet only. Testnet operators are not eligible. |
| Operating history | Your operator must have been active for at least 90 days since it was assigned its first validator. |
| Performance window | The most recent 30 days are sampled at the time of application. |
| Performance threshold | Your 30-day average performance must be ≥ 98% for each of the last 30 days. |
| KYC / KYB | You must complete identity verification (KYC for individuals, KYB for organizations). |
3. Application Process (Step-by-Step)
Follow these steps in order. Do not skip any step.
Step 1 — Visit the Landing Page
Go to ssv.network/verified-operators and click “Become a Verified Operator” to start your application.
Step 2 — Complete the Form
You will be redirected to a form that collects:
- Basic contact information.
- Your wallet address.
- Your operator IDs (both mainnet and testnet, if applicable).
Step 3 — Complete KYC / KYB
After submitting the form, you will be redirected to the KYC/KYB process.
- Individuals: Complete standard identity verification.
- Organizations / Companies: Complete business verification (KYB).
Step 4 — Wait for Review
Your submission is received in the internal Monday dashboard. The Operator Committee (OC) reviews your application within 14 days.
4. Review & Approval Workflow
Here is exactly what happens on the OC side after you submit.
4.1 Ticket Created
A ticket is opened automatically. The OC internal process starts.
4.2 OC Member Verification Checklist
The assigned OC member performs the following checks:
- KYC/KYB check — KYX provider notifies the OC. If marked “approved”, it passes.
- Wallet match — Confirm the claimed operator matches the submitted wallet address.
- Performance check —
- Verify you have been operating for ≥ 90 days since first validator assignment.
- Verify your 30-Day Average Performance is ≥ 98% for each of the last 30 days.
- Vote — If all checks pass, the OC votes on your application during the next regular meeting.
4.3 After Approval
If approved:
-
The verified tick is added to your operator ID(s) on the SSV Explorer.
-
You receive a notification:
“You were accepted to the verified operator program as you have met the criteria set by the DAO. Please expect the VO badge to appear on your operator within the next 72 hours.Thank you for joining the VO program, and happy staking!”
-
You are assigned a role to access the VO Discord channel.
If not approved:
- The OC member communicates the reason for denial.
- Any available next steps are provided so you can reapply once the issue is resolved.
5. Adding Additional Operators
If you are already a Verified Operator and want to add more operators under the same wallet:
Requirements per Additional Operator
- The new operator must have at least 1 validator assigned.
- It must meet the 98% performance threshold over the last 10 days.
- You can request additional operators via the same form / ticket process.
Validator-Based Scaling Rules
| Verified Operators You Already Have | Validators Required to Add More |
|---|---|
| 1–10 | No extra validator requirement. |
| 11–20 | 1,000+ validators across existing VOs. |
| 21–30 | 2,000+ validators across existing VOs. |
| 31–40 | 3,000+ validators across existing VOs. |
| etc. | +1,000 validators per block of 10. |
Process
- Submit a ticket for the additional operator(s).
- OC verifies KYC/KYB, wallet match, performance, and validator count.
- OC votes at the next regular meeting.
- If approved, the verified tick is added.
6. Maintaining Verified Status
Once you have the badge, you must keep your performance above the threshold. This is your responsibility as an operator.
Ongoing Requirements
-
Your 30-day moving average performance must stay ≥ 98%.
-
You should monitor your own metrics using tools like:
Quarterly Reviews
On a quarterly basis, the OC reviews the full verified operator list.
7. Performance Monitoring & Revocation
This section covers what happens if your performance drops below 98%.
Grace Period Structure
| Stage | Timeline | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Detection | Performance falls below 98% | Monitor your own metrics. The OC may attempt to notify you, but self-monitoring is mandatory. |
| First grace period | 14 days | You have 14 days to fix the issue and restore daily performance above 98%. |
| Second grace period | 14 additional days | If notified by the OC, you get another 14 days. Total possible grace period = 28 days. |
| Revocation | After 28 days (or 14 days if self-resolved but still below threshold) | If the 30-day moving average is still < 98%, the OC votes to remove the badge. |
What Happens After Revocation?
- The OC votes on removal at the next regular meeting.
- A request is sent to remove the verified tick from your operator ID(s) in the Explorer.
- You may reapply in the future once performance is restored.
Important: Even after you fix the issue, the 30-day moving average may take a full 30 days to climb back above 98%. This lag is expected and not a cause for concern — as long as your daily performance is consistently above 98% during the recovery period.
