Proposal for Engagement as the DAO's Master of Coin extension #2

TLDR

This proposal suggests extending my engagement as the DAO’s “Master of Coin” for another 6 months, following the DAO’s compensated contributor guidelines. The proposal is valid from June 31st to December 31st, with a monthly compensation rate of $3,500 in SSV. I dedicate approximately 10 hours weekly and regularly report activities and recommendations to the DAO.

Proposal

Objectives

Objective 1: Ensure that the Multisig committee operates to the highest standard

Key Results:

  • Ensure that all members remain engaged and aware of current DAO proposals
  • Help the multisig committee execute in a timely manner
  • Ensure security best practices
  • Promote continuous improvement of the committees processes
  • Propose two transaction batches a month on the 2nd and the 17th of the month.
  • Report on multisig performance and MoC activity on an evergreen forum post

Objective 2: Help the DAO make informed decisions through documentation and tooling

Key Results:

  • Create runway calculations and related documentation
  • Community Treasury Sheet updated every week to ensure that documentation is complete, up-to-date and easily understandable/accessible
  • Continued development and maintenance of the community Dune Dashboard

About Me

, I’m Sp00kyG (#Sp00kyG on Discord). I have been a DAO contributor since the inception of the SSV DAO. As the “Master of Coin” I lead the multisig committee, review DAO approved proposals, and work with related parties to ensure that proposals get properly translated to the multisig committee. I also help committees and the broader SSV community with multisig committee related questions and proposals.

Past Key Results

  • Proposed and executed more than 540 transactions on behalf of the DAO over the past three years
  • Helped the multisig committee achieve a flawless track record
  • Coordinated and proposed the resolution of several distinct detrimental situations
  • Ensured my availability for the above detrimental situations and any other enquiries

Some of my other contributions include the development and maintenance of the community Dune Dashboard and the community Treasury sheets. I am an operator and validator on the SSV Network, and have helped shape the DAO as part of the genesis committee. I have a computer science background that I leverage to help the DAO in whichever way I can.

Responsibilities

As the DAO’s “Master of Coin”, I will undertake the following responsibilities (in addition to any responsibilities outlined in the [DIP-2] Multi-Sig Committee proposal):

  • Lead the Multisig Committee and inform the DAO regularly on the committee’s activity.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Labs, Foundation and DAO
  • Review DAO-approved proposals and initiate signature requests (including any research, calculation, coordination, etc. required for initiating the said requests).
  • Ensure accessibility in case of emergencies
  • Ensure proper public documentation of past and future multisig committee activity.
  • Calculate and document committee expenses on behalf of the DAO
  • Work with committees and related parties on budgeting frameworks
  • Propose two transaction batches a month on the 2nd and the 17th of the month. This allows me as the MoC to refuse to propose transactions that do not fall into these two time slots. This does not pertain to Emergency Procedures as outlined in [DIP-2], where a new transaction can be requested for Emergency and Detrimental situations, as described in [DIP-2].

Terms of contribution

I shall act under the established compensated contribution guidelines. Logistics and mechanics follow the same guidelines if this proposal does not state otherwise.

Validity

This proposal is valid for 6 months, starting from June 31st and ending on the 31st of December 2025.

Compensation

For my time and effort, I’m asking for a monthly rate of $3,500. All payments will be denominated 100% in SSV based on a 30-day trailing price average calculated on the 1st day of the following month. According to the compensated contributor guidelines, I will not receive any additional compensation from working groups, circles, or committees I work with as part of this mandate.

Any committee compensation I have received during the validity period of this proposal and the actual date it passes shall be deducted from my first monthly compensation.

Any past or future transaction execution costs incurred while executing transactions on behalf of the DAO will be reimbursed “in-kind” (ETH) by the treasury.

Commitment

This is a part-time engagement with an estimated weekly demand of ~10 hours. Over the last three years, I have shown engagement beyond that level in times of high workload or crisis. My primary area and preferred time zone for the length of this engagement is Central Europe (CET).

Reporting

I will report the activities I perform per my objectives and responsibilities. Reporting shall be done publicly to the DAO on an evergreen MoC post on the forum. The reporting should include the main objectives for the upcoming month(s), a recap of the activities worked on in the past month(s), ongoing work, and any side objectives, including recommendations to improve the DAO’s efficiency and governance. These objectives are subject to change based on the DAO’s needs.

Acknowledgment and clarifications

As an applicant for a role within the DAO, I acknowledge and understand the effective compensated contributor guidelines and their impact on my role. I appreciate the DAO’s commitment, and I am aligned with the DAO’s values and mission. I acknowledge that these guidelines can be changed at any time, are subject to the DAO’s voting and consensus process, and that continuous refinement is a key aspect of the DAO’s governance structure.

This engagement is not an employment agreement and does not create an employment relationship. As such, the contributor must cover their own tax, healthcare, and workspace expenses, and they shall not be entitled to any benefits such as a pension or health insurance associated with an employment relationship.

The contributor warrants that all activities in the context mentioned in this proposal shall be put to the service of the DAO and the ssv.network and not to any of its members to whom the contributor has no direct relationship or obligation. The contributor does not have the power to commit on behalf of the DAO and shall not present themselves as having such power.

Closing

Thank you for reading my proposal! Let me know if you have any questions or comments, as usual you can always reach out to me on Discord #sp00kyg

In terms of the requested compensation our opinion is that it is very close to the upper bound, however based on our observations, SpookyG consistently does a good job as Master of Coin and believe the request is justified.
